During turbulent times, one thing that has been helping me to find purpose and clarity has been journaling. For a few minutes each morning with a fresh cup of coffee, I pull out my favorite journal and use one or two questions to dive inward + challenge myself to think about where I want to be on the other side of all of this. It also helps to quiet the chatter in my head and create a vision for the future that I can strive for.
I thought I would share some of the questions in case you want to do the same!
Here are a few to get you started to find clarity…
How do I feel right now?
What are 5 things I am grateful for right now?
What do I want to learn from what is happening in society right now?
What can I do today to connect with someone I love? To help them feel loved and/or safe.
When a new normal begins to surface, what habits do I want to leave behind? What new ones do I want to bring with me?
What do I want my life to look like after all of this?
What is most important to me in life?
What is something I can do to love myself today, help me to relax + feel safe?
What brings me joy?
What is something I can do, read or learn during this time that I haven’t had time to do in the past?
Can I tell myself (and believe it) that I will be ok?
